Valle del Metauro: San Giorgio is set on the hills above the valley of the River Metauro. This site in Italian and English looks at the ecology, landscape, and history of the valley.
Valle del Cesano San Giorgio is set on the hills between the Valley of the River Metauro and the River Cesano. This site in Italian and English looks at the towns of the Cesano Valley.

Marche Tourist Web Sites

Marche Voyager: The primary site for the Marche. Has a guide to accommodation, art, places to visit etc. Available in English, Italian and German.
Marche Worldwide: Linked to Marche Voyager this site has an interesting link to Marche Heritage which provides a time line on the history of the Marche with information on art and culture of each period.
Marcheservizi: Links to sites of the provinces, local wines. Only in Italian. Not all links work.
Marche Net: Italian site providing information on the history, art of the area. Has information on wine, festivals, food of the area including a calender for when festivals happen, food is in season etc.
By Marche: Italian site providing information on 'what's on in the Marche'. Includes local news.
Le Marche: An Italian site providing some tourist info including a section on Festivals and Fairs in the region.
Museums of the Marche: Museums in the Marche searchable by location and subject.
Museums in the Metauro Valley: Museums in the River valley from Fano inland.


Senigallia This is the primary site for information on "What's on" in Senigallia. It is in Italian. However at Senigallia's tourist site there are some pages on the history of the town, things to see etc. in English, French, German and Spanish.
Fano Provides information on things to see, what's on etc.

Via Michelin A routeplanner for Europe. Can plan a route from London to San Giorgio or San Giorgio to the sea. Includes town maps includign places such as San Giorgio etc.
Atlante italiano The cartografia section allows you to access maps of italy including those of the "Istituto Geograpfic di Militare" at a 1:25000 scale. Can view the map and air photographs side by side.
Tuttocitta Creates a map of selected area and shows locations of shops, restaurants etc and provides addresses

Ordine Ristoratori Professionisti Italiani (ORPI)  Order of Professional Restauranteurs. Directory of restaurants belonging to the association. Searchable by region including the Marche. In Italian and English.
Verdicchio Wine: Site in English. Emphasis on Verdicchio wine but has information on other wines in the Marche.
I Sapori: Pages on the food and wine of the region. In italian.
Ristoranti nelle Marche: Part of the Marche Servizi web site. A searchable list of restaurants by Province and town. Simply a listing of restaurants.
Wine of the Marche: Clicking on a wine hightlights the area on a map where it is grown. Information on each wine i.e. its style, conservaation is given.(In English)
Wine and food of the Marche: Part of the "Italian Made" web site. Provides background history to different wines and foods of the region given. (In English)
Guerrieri winery: The Guerrieri winery is in Piagge the town next to San Giorgio. The site provides information on the wines produced and contacts for tours and tastings. (In English)
